Al Khawarizmi International College was founded in 1985 with aim of providing:

Quality Diploma Programs, at higher education level, in Information Technology (IT), providing competent graduate, IT technicians; currently in national shortage.Quality Short Courses in Information Technology for 'End-Users' and IT Professionals.

The Al Khawarizmi Diploma in Computer Studies was the first diploma programme to be offered in the UAE in 1986. It was first offered in association with the Institute of Data Processing Management (IDPM) - London. In 1991 we started to offer the programme in association with and under full supervision from Liverpool John Moores University - UK. Liverpool JM University is a world-class British state university that is recognized worldwide.

KIC offers now a range of associate degree programs that are fully accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research - UAE. The programs are of international standard and are offered in association with Liverpool John Moores University.
The Associate degree programs that the College is running now are:

• Foundation Certificate - One year
• Associate Degree in Information Technology - two years
• Associate Degree in Business Administration - two years
• Associate Degree in Islamic Banking - two years
• Associate Degree in Computer Graphics & Animation - two years
• Associate Degree in Fashion Design - two years

The Al Khawarizmi Training Centre is the most prestigious in the country; it was the first Centre to be licensed from the Ministry of Education in 1985. The Centre utilizes some of the country's best instructors, the latest computer equipment, and the most up-to-date training material and equipment. Al Khawarizmi has provided training to thousands of individuals (more than 35,000) and all major oil companies, financial institutions and government departments. Al Khawarizmi is a Microsoft Certified Solutions Provider, Microsoft Office User Specialist MOUS test centre, an Oracle Education Partner, and an AutoCAD Authorized Training Centre.
Al Khawarizmi International College (KIC) offers now a wide range of short training programs at international standards. The programs are certified by the UAE Ministry of Education and are usually certified by international companies such as Microsoft, Oracle, Autodesk, Cisco and others.

Our recruitment section was established in 1996. It helps our students as well as other IT professionals find suitable jobs in oil companies, financial institutions, IT companies, and other private and government establishments.
With more than 23 years of experience in the field of Education and Training, KIC is an ISO 9001:2000 certified institution, which adheres very high standards in terms of its faculty and the programs developed and offered. The short-term training programs are offered in association and partnership with international companies such as Microsoft, Oracle, RedHat, Autodesk, CISCO, CompTIA, Project Management Institute (PMI) to name a few. KIC offers Original Training Manuals and Certified Instructors to deliver training both in English and Arabic.

The Relationship between Al  Khawarizmi  International College and Liverpool John Moores University

Al Khawarizmi International College relationship with Liverpool John Moores University, UK dates back to 1991. Under the current agreement Liverpool John Moores University provides Al Khawarizmi International College with academic advice and support for the 2-year Associate Degree programs. The support provided by LJMU to KIC includes:

1. Provide Academic Support and Advice to help Al Khawarizmi International College maintain good academic standards.

2.  Nominated staff to liaise with their counterparts at Al Khawarizmi International College .
   

3.  Progress review of programmes covered by the Agreement.
   

4.  Key members of staff to be provided with the opportunity to attend the annual award ceremony held by Al Khawarizmi International College .

As a result of the close cooperation between KIC and LJMU the students covered by this agreement may have automatic right of progression to programmes run by LJMU at Liverpool.  Specific progression regulations are as follows:
