Accreditation of the
Associate Degree in Fashion Design
Program to the
Al Khawarizmi International College [KIC] beginning
of April 2009 and started recruiting new students in Fall 09 semester.

The Commission of Academic Accreditation- Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research – UAE has approved initial Accreditation of the Associate Degree in Fashion Design Program to the Al Khawarizmi International College [KIC] beginning of April 2009 and started recruiting new students in Fall 09 semester.
Students who graduate with an Associate Degree in Fashion Design will have developed the ability to assume responsibility for entry or mid-level positions of employment within the fashion industry as style technicians, product developers, design room assistants, patternmakers or merchandizing assistants.
As well, graduates are well poised to pursue careers in the retail sector or apply their competence within cultural and costume design fields or pursue entrepreneurial endeavors. Other Students may also wish to continue their study to get B.A or M.A in the same field from local / international universities as KIC is licensed and accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education – UAE and affiliated with number of universities in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Palestine, Tunisia, India, Pakistan and Malaysia.
Studies include fashion design; fashion drawing; draping and pattern drafting; garment production; fashion and textile history, fashion marketing and production processes within the apparel industry. In the second year, Students design and produce mini apparel collections, from concept to production, and create professional product portfolios. The program will receive academic support and advice internally by its members of the program advisory board and externally by University Frasers valley – Canada.
